The Miami construction lawyers at Haber Law regularly represent clients in all aspects of the construction process. Whether negotiating and drafting a contract associated with a construction project, assisting with disputes that often occur during construction or litigating construction. The attorneys at Haber Law have the experience, skills and knowledge to ensure the best and most cost effective results for their clients.
Over the years, Haber Law has had great success representing owners, associations, contractors, designers, and suppliers in construction defect litigation. Haber Law is one of the preeminent construction law firms specializing in the representation of residential and garden style condominiums, individual residential homes and commercial establishments, to roadways and utilities. We have filed multimillion-dollar lawsuits for numerous luxury high-rise waterfront condominiums, as well as one of the largest lawsuits in Palm Beach County history. Haber Law has successfully litigated, taken to trial or amicably resolved numerous construction and design defects claims throughout South Florida, always keeping the client’s property and financial interests at the forefront of all results.
In the Palm Beach County case, Haber Law was involved in a five (5+) plus year litigation involving defective construction and design of 30 townhouse style, multistory condominium buildings. In addition to settlements pre-trial worth over $3.6 million in cash, product, and services, our construction litigation lawyers successfully obtained a $22.5 million settlement from the developer and general contractor, along with more than 15 subcontractors, architects and engineers, during the third day of trial. The case, which involved water intrusion and roof, stucco, window, sliding glass door defects, at one time had 34 defendants and over 50 law firms representing those defendants. At the time of trial, the case had 18 defendants, and was so large that the Palm Beach County court system had to build a special courtroom at the South Courthouse in Delray Beach, Florida to handle the trial. Additionally, the court system had to call upon a special oversized jury pool of over 300 citizens in an attempt to seat a jury. There were 40 insurance carriers involved in the settlement on behalf of the 18 defendants which remained at the time of trial.
In addition to litigating large, multi-party defect lawsuits, the construction lawyers at Haber Law also regularly represent clients in lien claims, bond claims, insurance claims and all other construction-related litigation. We have experience representing landlords and tenants with respect to tenant improvement buildouts and the problems associated with that process. We also represent contractors and owners in breach of contract claims.
At Haber Law, we have the experience and track record for obtaining excellent results for our clients. Construction law and litigation can be time-consuming and complex, often involving multiple parties, contract interpretation, insurance issues, and numerous technical requirements. Sorting through these issues is the job of trained professional construction lawyers such as those at Haber Law.
